Why ES-1 ?

The initial version of Emulator Station 1 was created 1995 by Olof Forsberg

Quoting Olof : "I have been an E-mu user for almost three years and haven't found any Home Page for my machines. There is one on the CompuServe and that's not the Internet. Therefore, I decided to set up my own Home Page with information, patches, programs, etc. for all E-mu products. My ambition is that ES1 will be the #1 station among the MIDI users, sharing their experiences in the forum. ES1 is my own project. E-mu Inc. is so far not on the Internet."

Emu's Web-Debut

Since fall 1995 E-mu Inc. has an own web page at www.emu.com. They're mainly presenting their products and providing contact information, if you want to buy something. Be sure to visit them, if you want to know what products are actually shipping. Unfortunately the Operating System updates are not free and there are a few other things which are missing. But for a corporate website, their have a done a good job. Still, if you want the LATEST rumors and news and user supported service, you are tuned to the right site!

Another 'Owner'

Michael 'Mickey' Lauer who had several pages for Emu EIV/E64 and UltraProteus was forced to remove the downloading capabilities (for Mac&PC) of the latest EOS and altered factory patches for Morpheus/UltraProteus, because they had violated copyright laws. In the meantime, Olof Forsberg has become too busy to take enough care for his Emulator Station 1, which he still wanted to be THE source for information & support, so he asked for users, who would like to adopt Emulator Station 1. Mickey responded and so Olof and Mickey agreed to renew Emulator Station 1 to stay an unofficial but great site for Emu products.

An additional contributor

Since the start of the renewed Emulator Station, St.Einar Pedersen is a frequently contributor of ES1+. Among his postings on the ES1+ mailing list he is responsible for the EOS list of wishes.
