EMUlator Station 1: News Archive

Recovered project news from June 1996 to October 1998, in the original English. The source gives months rather than individual publication dates; those dates are retained here.

EMUlator Station 1 was founded by Olof Forsberg in 1995. Mickey subsequently took over its maintenance, and St. Einar Pedersen contributed to the project. The October 1997 news marks Mickey’s first anniversary as maintainer. These are the shared project’s news, not newly written personal blog posts.

• Emu & Ensoniq, now both owned by Creative Labs are joining forces. Their net presence is under construction at http://www.emu-ensoniq.com

• The Web forum has been removed. It’s no longer necessary due to the Web interface of the mailing list which is available at http://www.findmail.com/listsaver/emulator.

• The interactive Top10 page has been removed also. Nobody used it.

June 1998

• The Emulator Station 1 mailing list is now archived and can be accessed via WWW Note: I think that the overall benefit of this service is greater than the potential spammer problem.

• Added a link to St.Einars Padolution - Presets for E4

• Minor enhancements describing EOS2.8 on the EOS page

• Added a drives (in)compatibility list - Please contribute to keep it up-to-date

• Added the ESI turbo kit option report (thanks, Lars!)

• The mailing list crashed and has been restarted. Please resubscribe.

July 1997

• Added some links to Orbit pages and an ESI-OS list of wishes (yes! We’re influencing :-)

• There is now a German mirror of Emulator Station 1. On the welcome page, you can choose which way to go. Note that the search-engine on the German mirror is not yet functional.

• Once again, some additions to the FAQ page (including some fine tips and tricks for using the EOS 2.0 morphing filters - thanks, Andrew!)

June 1997

• Created some screenshots of the forthcoming SoundDiver EOS module

• There are double postings on the Emulator Station 1 list. We know this problem and try to solve it as soon as possible.

• Emulator Station 1 has signed a trademark licensee contract with Emu Systems Inc.

October 1996

• The new Emulator Station 1 is open for business. Some pages do not contain very much information yet. This is where you can help. Fill in the gaps and/or tell us what you would like to see here. Contribute to make us the #1 address for Emulator devices. Please report wrong information or dead links. You’re welcome!
